Abstract: before and after the foam of the information market, which was over invested and hyped in 2000, the application of laser optoelectronics was relatively convenient. The situation of the sub market showed that the projects with ups and downs were mainly related to information products, and other markets were developing steadily. Moreover, it was expected that there would be a better recovery in 2004. The article pointed out the highlights of laser and optoelectronics products. International peers have noticed that China's laser Optoelectronics Market has great potential. Can domestic peers seize the opportunity to develop? The author makes a brief comment on some market phenomena. The author hopes that the colleagues can overcome their impetuous thoughts, concentrate the elites on the spirit of hard and steady development of high-end products to achieve domestic product support, and gradually obtain independent technical patents

key words: laser, optoelectronics

Ⅰ. Historical background

as a member of the scientific research team of laser Optoelectronics in the early 1960s, we have experienced a microwave stimulated emission medium from low-pressure gas crystal amorphous liquid high-pressure gas, exciton semiconductor plasma and magnetic medium; The laser oscillation wavelength fills every gap in the electromagnetic wave spectrum day by day (see Figure 1); The laser power ranges from NW (W) -1015w, and its instantaneous power exceeds the total power generated by all mankind; The laser pulse energy ranges from NJ (joule) - MJ (106 joule); The laser pulse width is compressed from continuous wave to NS (second) - PS (second) - near fs (second), which is unprecedented close to the wave period of photons, reaching a time-resolved scale that can not be provided by any natural phenomenon. It is conceivable that such a great revolution in the field of optics has directly brought about the expansion of human capabilities. It has enabled human beings to use optical communication, and the transmission rate of optical messenger information has leaped from 64kb/s (kilobits per second) of ordinary wires to 1.0gb/s (gigabits per second) - 40gb/s or more. This leap has jumped nearly a million times, but it is not the final record. Theoretically, there will be several orders of magnitude of leap space. This leap has brought mankind into the information age. Of course, due to the close relationship between economic laws and human characteristics and other factors, so far, mankind has not been able to achieve the "new economy" that only rises but not falls in today's ever-changing network. Nevertheless, the benefits of the information age are real. In the information age, people living in different corners can be more closely linked, so that people can truly share public information resources. It has promoted the development of many industries. The birth and development of laser has not only brought mankind into the communication era, but also incorporated many industries, such as computer (mainly data memory and input/output equipment), film and television, manufacturing, aerospace/aviation, material processing, medical treatment, entertainment, scientific research, security protection, military/counter-terrorism, handicrafts, display and printing, etc. As an innovative core component in the related products in the above application fields, the laser promotes the new development of the above industries. Laser products cover a wide range of fields. According to incomplete statistics, its annual trading volume has reached nearly 10 billion US dollars. According to the report of the magazine at the beginning of 2003, the sales volume of domestic laser products in 2002 was 2.8 billion yuan. Obviously, many special product parts and intermediate test products may not be included. The above data are low, because optoelectronic products and precision technology products related to laser products are very scattered and abundant, so it is difficult to make a relatively complete statistics. In short, laser optoelectronic products are still in the process of development in terms of development and products. Opportunities have been and are waiting for colleagues to seize

Ⅱ. Laser Optoelectronics Market Status

1 Laser product classification

according to different classification methods, lasers can be divided into many types: Electric (vertical and horizontal) excitation, chemical microwave, light, laser, radioactive and RF excitation lasers; Gas, solid, liquid, semiconductor (LD) and plasma lasers; X-ray, ultraviolet, visible and infrared lasers; High, medium and low power lasers (pulse and continuous); High, medium and low energy lasers (pulses), etc. In recent years, due to the rapid development of LD and its close relationship with optical information industry, LD and non LD laser products are commonly used as market representatives. Obviously, after the sales volume of laser products reached the peak of 8.8 billion US dollars in 2000, it shrank significantly. Two years later, it had dropped by about half, and then there was a recovery momentum in the following two years. However, it is not difficult to see from table 1 that the inflation and bursting of the foam are only concentrated in LD. The key to the expansion of the bases related to the information industry is the internal product. Among them, the sales of non LD parts are relatively stable. On the contrary, in 2000, when the bubble in the information market rose to the largest, the sales of non LD parts were relatively low. It is likely that many laser product suppliers are scrambling to cut the big cake of the communication industry

according to the analysis of laser focus world magazine, the United States is still the most important laser and optoelectronic production and consumption country in the world. Therefore, the data quoted in this paper mainly come from the United States. Obviously, the optimistic estimate of this market in 2004 is supported by the recovering U.S. economy of 121 silicone building sealing rubber. In the past few years, Europe is still in the dark. This is not only reflected in the communication, but also in the non communication laser market. In 2003, the three major European communication companies: British Telecom, Deutsche Telekom and telecom all reported that they expected the financial situation to improve, which showed that the European communication industry was passing the trough. Recent information from the world's major laser markets indicates that the laser market is recovering. What is more important is that the developers of laser products have made and are making adjustments and arranging new investments. They have shifted their attention to more new application fields. This has been confirmed by John ambroseo, CEO of coherent, who is developing new projects and new markets. For example, infrared lasers are used to illuminate targets, and photonic elements are used to capture signals. For another example, the UV LED and LD projects, laser testing instruments related to cytology, cancer diagnostics, biology, genetics and drugs, outdoor screens, highway signal display and many other markets are growing. The laser equipment used by the United States and Europe in the war on terrorism is also heating up. Just as the walker predicted, the laser market is expanding. After several years of consolidation, the laser communication market will also have new highlights, such as
